Woman pleads guilty to the brutal murder of her sister

24 Oct 2017

A woman has today (Tuesday) admitted to murdering her sister in their home address in Luton last May.

In the fourth attempt to start a trial Sabah Khan, 27, of Overstone Road, Luton, entered a guilty plea at the Old Bailey this morning (Tuesday).

Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have been investigating the murder after 34-year-old Saima Khan was found dead in a property on Overstone Road on Monday 23 May 2016.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Gallop, senior investigating officer, said: “This is any family’s worst nightmare – it is beyond comprehension for the family to hear that one daughter has brutally murdered another. It has been a horrendous ordeal for them and we are pleased that we have received the guilty plea today.

“We continue to support the family, I’m not sure there can ever really be a closure, but what I do hope is that after sentencing they can hear what happened that night and start to move forward.”

Sabah Khan will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Thursday (26 October).
