Attempted robbery in Luton – can you help?

Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Luton are appealing for help from the public.

On Monday (22 January), between 3.10pm and 3.20pm, a woman was walking along a footpath linking Westmorland Road and Watermead Road when she was approached from behind by a man. He tried to steal the victim’s phone and, as she tried to stop him, he assaulted her. He then rode away on an orange mountain bike.

The man is described as black, around 25-years-old, 5’ 7” and wearing rectangular glasses with brown eyes. He is thought to have been wearing dark grey jogging bottoms, a dark blue scarf covering his face, a black jacket with a fur hood and a black beanie hat.
