Independent sexual violence advisor (ISVA) service

Our Emerald team is supported by police-commissioned ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors).

RapeandSexualOffencesEmeraldLogo-August2017An ISVA provides professional support to victims of recent and historic serious sexual offences to enable them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced.

ISVAs operate on an individual, local and national level to try and improve the experience of victims of sexual violence, facilitate their recovery and help prevent further incidents from occurring.

The support provided by an ISVA will vary from case to case, depending upon the requirements of the victim and their particular circumstances.

We currently have two ISVAs, who work with male and female victims.
