The warning signs of honour-based abuse can include:
- School – extended absences, truancy, low motivation, excessive parental restriction and control of movement
- Workplace – poor attendance and performance, no control of income and limited career choices
- Mental health – self harm, attempted suicide, depression and social isolation
- Home – family disputes/conflict, domestic abuse, reported as missing/running away from home.
