Warning signs

 

The warning signs of honour-based abuse can include:

  • School – extended absences, truancy, low motivation, excessive parental restriction and control of movement
  • Workplace – poor attendance and performance, no control of income and limited career choices
  • Mental health – self harm, attempted suicide, depression and social isolation
  • Home – family disputes/conflict, domestic abuse, reported as missing/running away from home.
