What to bring with you

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or registering a change in your circumstances, use the checklist below to make sure you bring all the relevant documents.

** COVID-19 Update - registration services are currently suspended **

This will not affect your immigration status and no penalty will be given for missed or late registrations, or for being unable to tell us about a change in your circumstances during these unprecedented times.  If you do need to register or report a change you will still be able to by using the online system; however you will not be able to book an appointment.  When registered and appointments are resumed, we will notify you via email and you will be able to log into your account and book an appointment.

First time registration

You must bring the following with you to your appointment at the police station when registering for the first time:

  • Passport
  • £34 cash
  • Confirmation letter from place of study or employment contract
  • BRP card
  • If applicable, Home Office letter/email, which states you are required to register

Change in circumstances

  • Passport
  • BRP card
  • Proof of any change of address, place of study/work or marital status
  • Your current certificate

Transfer from another force

  • Passport
  • BRP card
  • Proof of any change of address, place of study/work or marital status
  • Your current certificate
