Street drinking and associated anti-social behaviour can impact on people’s perception of the physical environment and more importantly their quality of life and safety. Groups of drinkers can sometimes be intimidating and stop people using public spaces.
Please do not support street drinkers by supplying them with alcohol or money. We also encourage you to report nuisance behaviour or if you see people drinking in designated alcohol free zones in towns across the county.
The police and council can tackle street drinking by using anti-social behaviour legislation such as using dispersal orders, confiscating alcohol that is being drunk in designated alcohol free areas, and issuing warnings and fines.
You can make your report by calling the police non-emergency number 101 or, if you or someone else is in immediate danger by dialling 999.
When you report it please be as specific as you can with your descriptions of who is causing the problem and where and when it is happening.
