Chief Constable's message about diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are not simply buzzwords or soundbites to me, they are essential in developing a Police service for all, a service that reflects our communities.

Diversity on all levels means we can provide a better service to the communities and have a workforce where everyone feels valued forwho they are.

I feel strongly that the more diverse the voices are that are included, the more effectivewe will be with solving the challenges we as Police face.

Diversity and inclusion also mean that we recognise and utilise the strength that we,as individuals, bring to the table. It's also the recognition that our backgrounds are essential; we are not all the same. We need to listen carefully with a commitment to inclusion and equality both externally to the broader community and our colleagues.

We promote our Culture with Be You and I want every colleague to feel they can be just that with confidence!
