We are currently creating HTML versions of all documents that are essential services and non-exempt.

We provide the use of forms for reporting crime or incidents and applying for information. Some elements found within these forms may be difficult to use and navigate and labels used for form fields are not consistent throughout the available forms on our site. This does not meet Success Criterion 3.2.4 Consistent Identification (Level AA).
We are aware that there are form fields that are not marked up correctly which could prevent screen reader software from verbally detailing what content the user should enter. This does not meet Success Criterion 2.5.3 Label in Name
We are investigating these issues and developing timelines for resolving them across all of our available forms.

- There are examples of hyperlinked text where the purpose of the link appears ambiguous and the destination may not be easily determined. - There are content pages which have been created without the correct use of heading tags, which may make it difficult to navigate the content sequentially. This does not meet Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A). We aim to fix and update these 1st January 2022
- We have identified sections of the website where tables and bullet lists are not styled properly, which could prevent screen reader software from recognizing or conveying information that is understandable for all users. This does not meet Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A).
- If style sheets are not being used we have identified that the available radio buttons on the ‘Contact’ page takes the user to the top of the page after completing a step in the process. This does not meet success criterion success criterion 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (Level A). We are investigating this issue to plan timelines to resolve it.
- For users navigating through our website by tabbing using a keyboard, the opportunity to select our web chat facility button is not available in a sequential or logical order of navigation. Therefore, this does not meet Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A). We are investigating this issue and planning timelines how to rectify this.
- On our ‘Contact us’ page we have identified that the ‘radio buttons’ we provide to select to find additional services is difficult to navigate in a logical order using a keyboard. This does not meet Success Criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A)

- We provide the use of Google maps application to help to identify and select your location for completing forms and other services. Upon entering a location, it is displayed within an entry field which cannot be read out by screen reader software. This is therefore not obvious to the user of this software if the input address is correct and cannot advance to the next part of the form.
This does not meet Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), we are currently reviewing all of our forms to rectify any non-compliant content.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
We are adding new text alternatives as HTML webpages for non-compliant documents that were produced and published on our site after 23rd September 2018.
Some of our documents, published before this date are essential for providing our services, and therefore these documents will also be provided with text alternatives to meet compliance.
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 (opens in new window) if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix PDFs of minutes taken from meetings, campaign PDFs or posters provided for download, that were published before 2018.
Any new PDFs, Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

As the DPA states, anyone may lodge a request with us, as any one person has a right to know if we hold information about them, what information is processed about them, what we are using it for and who we may share it with.

We only use personal data for intended email and mobile marketing purposes to those who have registered for these service and update types.
Downloads and documents
Whilst we aim to provide a seamless online experience to to our website users, there may be occasions where it is necessary for us to attach documents, policies or forms to a webpage.
We recognise this does not constitute best practice, however we are striving to deliver the best online experience to all users and will continue to evolve our digital presence and facilitate online materials and activities as and when possible.
To make our websites as accessible as possible where downloads are concerned, we will ensure all downloads are available as PDF files.
