Police Now’s Graduate Leadership Programme offers graduates the opportunity to create social change.
The aim of the programme is to break the cycle of crime in the most challenged areas by making communities safe where people can thrive.
The two-year programme is intense and the challenge is unique. Graduates become fully warranted police officers, with responsibility for an area which could be home to as many as 20,000 people.
They get to know their communities – the problems, the prominent offenders and the crime hotspots within them. Right from the beginning, they are expected to use innovative ideas and tactics to tackle the toughest problems and deliver results.
Graduates are supported by mentors, coaches and line managers. Frontline training is delivered by more than 40 different experts and a whole range of police officers.
There are also opportunities to undertake prestigious three-week placements with one of Police Now’s partner organisations, which give graduates exposure to the wide range of options available to them once they complete the Police Now programme.
The challenge extends beyond the basic mission of the police to prevent crime and disorder. It’s the chance to be a leader in society and on the frontline of policing.
As the 2018 Police Now cohort is expanding nationally to work with police forces across the country, it means there are now more opportunities for outstanding graduates to step forward and make a difference for generations to come.
Applications for entry in 2018 are currently open and can be found by visiting the Police Now website.
