Are you looking for new challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a variety of roles to work on Operation Costello, the largest operation we have ever run to combat the highest levels of serious and organised crime across the county.

We have been awarded special funding from the Home Office to run a series of dedicated operations to tackle organised crime groups in Bedfordshire.

Posts have been created to focus solely on tackling gangs suspected of being involved in serious offending such as large scale drugs importation and weapons trafficking.

Applications are invited from dynamic, tenacious and self-motivated individuals who have a keen interest in investigating serious and complex crime, with good working knowledge of new/emerging capabilities and technology.

Knowledge of covert policing tactics and legislation is also desirable.

Bedfordshire Police endeavors to reflect the diverse communities we serve and to build an inclusive workforce where everyone is valued and respected.  We encourage applications from all underrepresented groups.

Successful candidates will need to hold a full driving license and will be subject to enhanced vetting and integrity checks, which must be passed prior to undertaking the role.

Progression to an interview will be dependent upon successful completion of a paper sift.

The interview will be a competency based interview marked against the integrated competency framework and will require you to provide examples of your skills and knowledge.

Interview dates will be scheduled according to availability of candidates.

All roles are initially being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract, with any extension beyond that dependent on future funding.
