- Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?
- Do you have a keen interest in investigating serious and complex crime?
- Do you have the tenacity to go after major players involved in importing and distributing drugs in our county and taking down the criminal gangs they are associated with?
- Do you have the skills to lead on and support investigations into criminal gangs?
Then we need you to join us on Operation Costello - our force’s biggest ever crackdown on serious and organised crime and help us increase on the successful enforcement we have already achieved.
Operation Costello is the largest operation we have ever run to combat the highest levels of serious and organised crime across the county and we have a number of both officer and staff roles to fill so we can achieve this goal.
We have been awarded special funding from the Home Office to create a team which will focus solely on tackling gangs suspected of being involved in serious offending such as large-scale drugs importation and weapons trafficking.
Applications are invited from dynamic, tenacious and self-motivated individuals who have a keen interest in investigating serious and complex crime, with good working knowledge of new/emerging capabilities and technology.
Knowledge of covert policing tactics and legislation is also desirable.
Bedfordshire Police endeavours to reflect the diverse communities we serve and to build an inclusive workforce where everyone is valued and respected. We encourage applications from all underrepresented groups.
Successful candidates will need to hold a full driving license and will be subject to enhanced vetting and integrity checks, which must be passed prior to undertaking the role.
Progression to an interview will be dependent upon successful completion of a paper sift.
The interview will be a competency-based interview marked against the integrated competency framework and will require you to provide examples of your skills and knowledge.
Interview dates will be scheduled according to availability of candidates.
All roles are initially being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract, with any extension beyond that dependent on future funding.
