Did you know that if you are a victim of crime and the offender
has accepted responsibility you may be entitled to something called
restorative justice conferencing?
Restorative justice conferencing is a facilitated opportunity
for the victim to communicate with the offender, seek explanations
and express the impact the crime had on them. It can also be a
place for the offender to agree with the victim how they intend to
make amends for the harm caused.
Best results are usually achieved via fully supervised
face-to-face conferencing, but we know that isn’t right for
everyone – each case is different. Whatever your decision you can
be sure that you will be supported at every step of the way to find
a solution that is right for you.
The initiative dovetails with the force’s CARE campaign and
aspirations by this force to become a top performer in terms of
