Were You the Silver Car Driver?
Detectives in Luton are appealing for a car driver to come forward and help with an attempted robbery investigation.
The incident happened on Tuesday, February 23 in Abbey Drive between 3.50pm and 4.30pm when two men threatened a 16 year old student with a metal object hidden in a sock.
The victim managed to grab the weapon before he was hit with it but the offenders punched him in the face and left empty handed.
It is believed one of the offenders discarded a bicycle into the road during the incident and the driver of a silver car had to take avoiding action.
Detective Constable Kaysie Conroy, investigating, is keen to trace this car driver as they may hold vital information relating to this investigation.
She said: “This car driver may be able to help identify those responsible for this crime and I would urge this motorist to come forward and speak to the police.”
One man has been arrested in connection with this incident and released on police bail pending further investigations.
Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Conroy at Luton Police Station, on 01234 841212, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
