Police Seek Good Samaritan

Police in Luton are appealing to a Good Samaritan who helped a robbery victim to contact them.

The incident happened on Monday (March 1) between 8pm to 8.15pm when the 40 year old victim was getting in to his van, which was parked next to a block of garages in Downs Road.

Two men both described as white, slim and approximately 5’10” tall and wearing dark hooded tops, grabbed the victim’s bag and left the scene running in to an alley way, towards Ashburnham Road. One of the offenders spoke to the victim, possibly in Polish.

PC Steve Scott, investigating, is keen to trace a man who was close by and went to help the victim.

PC Scott said: “This man went to check that the victim had not been injured and I would urge him to contact the police as he may have further information which will help identify those responsible for this crime.”

If you are the Good Samaritan or if you have information about this robbery you can contact PC Scott at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01234 841212, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
