Were You Good Samaritan at Bromham Road?
Did you and a friend help an injured man at Bromham Road in the early hours of Sunday morning? (Feb 28)
Detectives are looking for the pair of Good Samaritans who took the 22 year old man home after finding him unconscious near to the Job Centre on Bromham Road, Bedford. He had been attacked in an argument over a packet of chips while walking home at about 12.30am.
Two men had approached him and deliberately knocked the food out of his hands, and when he remonstrated with them, they physically attacked him. He was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken finger, cut lip and bruised neck.
He was discovered by the Good Samaritans (he has as yet been unable to provide a description of them as his recollection of the event was understandably hazy) and escorted home, where they then called an ambulance for him. He required hospital treatment for his injuries.
The two offenders are described as:
- Black, 5ft 6ins tall, aged about 18-19 years, slim with cane row plaits and with a diamond stud in his left ear. He was wearing a light blue hooded top
- Black, 5ft 10ins tall, slim, aged 18-19 years, with cane row plaits and wearing dark clothing.
Det Con Alison Whitworth of Bedford CID is anxious to contact these kind people to see if they can add any information to the investigation, and is also keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident. She can be contacted direct on 01234 275356, or via the force switchboard on 01234 841212.
