Attempt Robbery Warning
DETECTIVES in Dunstable are asking for people to be on their guard after a 20-year-old woman was threatened at knifepoint during an attempted robbery on Monday (Jan 25).
The incident happened at approximately 10.45pm as the victim sat in her car in the Asda Car Park on Court Drive with a friend.
A man opened the car door and demanded money from the victim. She told him she had no money. He then threatened her with a knife and made a further demand for money. The woman once again told him she did not have any. The offender ran from the scene towards the Grove House Theatre.
The offender is described as white. He was between 25 – 30 years old, 6’0” tall and with a skinny build. He was wearing a blue hooded top, blue jeans and trainers.
Detective Sergeant, Louisa Glynn, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area.
She said: “At this time of night very few people are out and about but it is possible that other shoppers could have seen someone matching this description or a person acting suspicious in the area. I would urge these people to contact the police and tell them what they saw.”
Anyone with information relating to this incident can contact DS Glynn at Dunstable Police Station, on 01582 473235, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
