Elderly Lady Robbed – Witnesses Sought
Detectives in Luton are seeking witnesses to a robbery which saw a 94 year old Luton lady robbed of her handbag on Thursday (Feb 11).The incident happened at 1.50pm in Chobham Walk when the lady was making her way home and a woman grabbed her bag from her hands.
A woman was arrested by police shortly after the incident but she has been released on police bail pending further investigations.
Detective Constable Kaysie Conroy, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who was in the Chobham Walk area at the time of the robbery and who can help identify the person responsible.
She said: “The victim was left extremely distressed by what had happened to her and an ambulance was called but luckily the lady did not require hospital treatment.
“I would like to urge anyone with information about the identity of the offender to speak to the police and help stop elderly people being targeted in this way.”
