Serious Road Traffic Collision – Witness Appeal
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman pedestrian was in collision with a car in Bedford yesterday (Tuesday February 9).
It happened at 2.45 pm in Union Street, 20 metres south of the junction with Tavistock Street. The woman, aged 61, was crossing the road from west to east when she collided with a Honda Civic being driven by a 24-year-old man.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Bedford Hospital with head injuries and was later transferred to Addenbrookes. Her condition is described as critical but stable. The driver of the car was not injured.
Pc Dave Clarke, from the Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, who has not yet been spoken to by police, to contact him.
