Boiler Thieves Police Appeal
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Houghton Regis.
The appeal follows a burglary at a property at Elm Park Close, Houghton Regis, between 9.30pm on Wednesday (Jan 27) and 5pm on Thursday (Jan 28). Offenders forced a wooden panel from the front door to enter the house.
Once inside they removed a central heating copper water tank causing water to flood the entire property. Thieves also searched the rest of the house and stole various items of Tiffany jewellery, a laptop and digital camera.
Police want residents to contact them if they are offered a central heating system they believe may be stolen.
DC Paul Arrowsmith, investigating, added: It must have taken the offenders some considerable time to remove the system, which was then possibly loaded into a waiting vehicle.
“If anyone saw something that, with hindsight, may have been suspicious, we would ask them to contact us.”
Anyone with information can contact DC Arrowsmith, in confidence, on 01582 473055, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or text to 07786 200011.
