Did YOU Witness Serious Road Traffic Collision?
BEDFORDSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a single car collision in Blunham on Friday (Jan 29).
It happened at 9.30pm on the A1 northbound when a green Renault Megane left the road and collided with trees. The car was then forced back onto the road stopping across both lanes just south of the Blunham turn.
The Megane ended on its roof and the passenger, a 40-year-old man, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with serious chest injuries.
The driver, a man, suffered serious head injuries and was also taken to Addenbrookes Hospital. Both of these men still remain in hospital in a life threatening condition. The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and a full collision investigation is underway.
PC Andy Carter, of the Roads Policing Unit, is keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the incident, or the vehicle at any other point. The vehicle may have been involved in a collision with another vehicle prior to leaving the road. They had previously stopped at Somerfield filling station on the A1.
Anyone with information can contact PC Carter, in confidence, on 01234 842469, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or text 07786 200011.
