Flitwick Jewellery Thieves Branded As “Despicable”
A CHARM bracelet featuring items including a wedding ring and engagement ring was among distinctive jewellery stolen from the home of an elderly widow in Flitwick this week.
Offenders forced the rear patio doors of a property in Vicarage Hill between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday (November 17) while the occupant was out.
DC Michelle Sears, investigating, is keen to hear from anyone who recalls seeing someone acting suspiciously around the property, an unfamiliar vehicle, or is offered jewellery they think may be stolen.
She added: “This is a despicable offence, since not only is the jewellery worth a considerable amount of money, but it is also of extremely high sentimental value to the elderly woman from whom it has been stolen.
“We would urge traders to be on the alert and for residents to contact us if they are jewellery which appears to match the description.”
Items taken include:
- A yellow gold charm bracelet featuring:
- a fish with ruby stone eyes ,
- a Perrantorth coat of arms
- a windmill with sails missing
- a pound note in a glass square
- a speed boat
- a plain wedding and engagement ring
- a vintage car with a bonnet that opens
- a dog,
- a sea horse
- a 10 shilling note rolled up in a tube and
- two playing cards, one of which is a joker.
- A half sovereign coin from 1939
- A thin yellow gold chain with 50p shaped solid gold locket with criss-cross pattern that is more than 40-years-old
- A red velvet pouch containing a chunky 1965 silver bangle with a pattern engraved around the outside and clip clasp.
