Did You Witness Hand Bag Snatch?
Police in Luton are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was knocked to the ground and injured during a robbery yesterday, (Nov 11).
The incident happened as the 27-year-old victim was walking along Limbury Road in to Stanmore Road at approximately 7.20pm.
The man grabbed the victim’s bag and ran from the scene towards an alleyway that leads to Icknield Road.
PC Sophie McGrath, investigating, describes the offender as a black man, 20 – 25 years old; approximately 6’ tall with curly black hair and a medium build. He was wearing a black padded jacket with a fur lined hood.
PC McGrath is keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the offender by the description given and would also urge motorists and pedestrians in the area last night to contact the police if they witnessed the robbery.
She said: “The victim suffered a small cut and bruising to her right leg when she was knocked to the floor by the offender as he grabbed her bag. This robbery happened early I the evening and it is possible that members of the public were still making their way home from work and could have noticed a person matching the offenders description loitering in the area or running from the scene. I would urge anyone with information relating to this crime to come forward and speak to the police.”
Anyone with information can contact PC McGrath at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01234 841212, or text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
