Neighbourhood Priorities
What you asked us to do
Reduce speeding in Church Street, Clifton
What we are doing
Speeding is still a priority for the Shefford SNT. We will continue to use the SID (Speed Indication Device) at various locations across the area to try and educate drivers of their speed when travelling through the 30mph zones. Specific areas within the neighbourhood have been targeted with the Speedar, this is a hand held speed gun, in order to try and deter drivers from speeding. Measures are also being put in place with other agencies such as the Casualty Reduction Partnership and Road Traffic department to try and detect speeding offences within the area.

What we are doing
Each report of inappropriate parking is responded to with the appropriate action considered at the time. Warning notices are issued and Fixed Penalty Notices can be issued where applicable. The law states that vehicles must not be within 10 metres of a junction and/or parked causing an unnecessary or dangerous obstruction. If the owner/driver cannot be easily located, the owner/driver of the vehicle will incur the cost of such recovery.
