Get involved

Do you want to get involved in making Bedfordshire an even safer place to live?  There are lots you can do from joining a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme to signing up as a volunteer for Bedfordshire police.  Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Attend a local Safer Neighbourhood Team meeting or surgery

By attending a local Safer Neighbourhood Team meeting you can find out what the police are doing in your area to tackle local priorities and crime.  You can raise any concern you have, suggest what can be done to improve a neighbourhood, find out what the police are doing locally and get advice on how to reduce the risk of crime to you and your property.  To find your local Safer Neighbourhood Team enter your postcode in the Safer Neighbourhoods search facility on this page.

Become a volunteer

Do you want to help out in your spare time, putting something really valuable back into your community? Nearly 11% of Bedfordshire police personnel is made up of volunteers, with the youngest being 16 and the oldest 82.  Volunteering opportunities include becoming a Special Police Constable or a volunteer member of staff.  Click here to find out more

Join a Neighbourhood Watch scheme

Neighbourhood Watch is a partnership where people come together to make their communities safer.  It involves the police, Community Safety departments of local authorities, other voluntary organisations and, above all, individuals and families who want to make their neighbourhoods better places to live.  Click here to find out more:
