General Aviation
Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire’s General Aviation team came
together in a Force collaboration on 1 March 2011.
The officers are based at London Luton Airport but work out
of the office around both counties on a weekly basis.
One of their primary responsibilities is the
policing of small airfields and aviation sites across the two
counties. This involves visits to locations to meet site
owners, pilots, operators, flying schools, aviation related
businesses, and any interested parties.
The officers are dedicated to providing help
and advice on security issues, crime prevention, and to promote
compliance with all relevant legislation, in particular the
Terrorism Act 2000 and the 12 hour rule.
