Bedfordshire Police Diversity and Inclusion

Welcome to the Diversity & Inclusion section of Bedfordshire Police. Our business strategies, policies, corporate behaviour, relationships with customers and communities all support our approach to diversity, inclusivity and equality values. Our commitment will ensure we demonstrate we will support our employees to reach their full potential, and in so doing, maximise community engagement, involvement and increased public confidence.

The demographics of the workplace are changing rapidly. Organisations now have a much broader diversity of staff at all levels. The diversity of Bedfordshire Police employees ensures the Force brings a unique perspective to the policing challenges we face.

Bedfordshire Police has a moral and legislative obligation to check the work we do does not impact adversely on our communities, particularly with respect to race, religious belief/non-belief, disability, gender, age and sexual orientation. Our aim is to put individuals and our communities at the heart of policing. Our Single Equality Scheme sets out our moral and legal responsibilities, which in turn will allow us to deliver meaningful change.

Bedfordshire Police also utilises the services of members of the community through iag Logoour 3 Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs). If you would like to know more about the role of the IAG and how to become a member, click on the logo which will take you the IAG website.
