Quarter of a Million Pound Cannabis Seizure
Bedfordshire Police have seized a cannabis haul with a street
value of £259,000 following an operation in Luton at the
weekend.
Thirty-four kilos of the Class B drug was recovered on Saturday
morning at an underground car park in Holly Street, in Luton town
centre.
The seizure is part of the force’s aim to fight crime and
protect the public against illegal drugs.
Three people were arrested at the scene, including a 57-year-old
man from Walsall who was released on bail pending further
enquiries.
Two others were charged with Conspiracy to Supply Class B Drugs.
Kamran Parvaz, aged 29, of Kennington Road, Luton and Shahid
Subhani, aged 28, of Ascot Road, Luton both appeared before Luton
Magistrates Court and were remanded and bailed respectively. They
are both due to appear at Luton Crown Court on November 6,
2012.
