Witness appeal following robbery in Bedford

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Bedford on Monday (7 August).

 

Between 11am and 11.30am a woman was robbed by two women in Chestnut Avenue who stole her bag and purse, and injured her head.

 

The suspects are described as white, one with light coloured hair, and one aged in her thirties and wearing a bright coloured top.

 

The women fled the scene in the direction of Bromham Road.

 

Detective Constable Aroop Nandre, investigating, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information about who the suspects might be, to get in touch with us. Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured in this incident however she is naturally shaken, and we will not tolerate violence and robbery of this kind in our county.”
